(Founded 1921. Formerly known as Faculty Women's Club of Rice University)

Why should you join us?

The purpose of the Club is to promote friendship among women of Rice University and to welcome newcomers.

The Club welcomes as members women faculty, staff, active or retired, as well as female spouses, partners or family members of faculty and staff, active or retired. We also welcome female postdoctoral students and female spouses, partners or family members of postdoctoral students.

Here are some of the things we do on a regular basis. We vary them with occasional field trips, museum visits, movie nights and other events.   Details can be found in our schedule of activities page.

Please contact the club officers at womensclubboard@rice.edu with any questions!

Are you interested in SERVICE to the Rice community?

Get involved with the Graduate Student Loan Closet!

The Club actually runs a loaner store with thousands of household items! The store is house at the Graduate apartments on Bissonnet Street, and is staffed completely by our Club members, who volunteer their time and effort.

For a minimal yearly fee we loan any number of items to Rice graduate students, who keep them while at Rice, and reurn them with their gratitude when they graduate. We get many wonderful notes from them every year, telling us how much we helped them!

Extra volunteer work is needed especially at the beginning and end of the semesters, so please show up and help us! For info see http://gradloancloset.blogs.rice.edu/

… or get involved with the Children’s activities!

Every year we throw a big daylight Halloween Party for the children of the Rice community and the neighborhood, in the safe environment of the campus.

Also, our  Easter Egg Hunt has been legendary with many generations of Rice children.

Would you like to SOCIALIZE and have FUN together with other Rice women?
